This course is ideal for:
- ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS WHO ASPIRE TO BECOME FULLY QUALIFIED ELECTRICIANS WITHIN ONLY 18-20 WEEKS
What do we offer?
These qualifications are bundled together in our Gold Electrical Training package for those completely new to the industry, with no experience whatsoever. They are the industry recognised route to becoming a Gold card holder under the JIB scheme, and replace the old City and Guilds 2330. The qualifications are designed to allow the student to work on building sites as well as domestic, commercial and industrial settings, becoming a fully qualified electrician.
These courses are a blended mix of both theory and practical (approximately 50% classroom-based and 50% practical) and are designed for individuals with little or no electrical industry knowledge and will start teaching right from the basics (how to fit back boxes using a drill and raw plugs, how to fit simple lighting circuits, ring final circuits and consumer units etc.), all the way through to the high end techniques (bending conduits, creating angled bends in cable tray and trunking etc.). Thus, throughout the course you will learn all of the hidden tips of the trade and how to confidently fully carry out domestic, industrial and commercial electrics.

For additional information on the content of the units, and what the courses entail as a whole, feel free to check the courses out separately: Level 2 and Level 3.
Upon completion of these, you will undertake two more weeks of training where you will pass the 18th Edition City & Guilds (2382) and Inspection & Testing City & Guilds (2391-52). These are mandatory for you to work in the electrics industry as a Domestic Installer.
All of the above modules will be carried out here at our purpose built, dedicated training centre where we have various simulated training bays for you to carry out your practical assignments. We also have our own computer suite linked to City & Guilds for you to take all of your online tests.
What happens after?
We understand that the future may be a concern for many students, which is why we offer Unit 308 as part of the Level 3 course, where our tutors will help you plan out your career development plans, and teach you how to set & achieve goals that further push you towards the beginnings of a great career.
After successful completion of these courses, students will have all of the necessary skills and qualifications to either gain employment in the industry or register with a competent person scheme such as NICEIC and set up your own business. Many students like to then complete the AM2 and NVQ level 3 before applying for their JIB Gold card.
