You will gain experience in all aspects of plumbing, plastering & tiling to prepare you for every kind of job that you take on. For those who wish to be trained with the necessary knowledge to be able to complete basic work & DIY projects, or to make their first steps into the trade, this course is for you!

What do we offer?

This course is ideal for keen DIY’ers or people who are considering a new career in the bathroom installation industry. This course will provide you with an insight into bathroom design and teach you lots of new skills.

Furthermore, on this course your tutor will teach you the basic skills that you will need when you are carrying out typical plumbing, plastering and tiling tasks. Whilst completing your training with us here at CBWA, you will also learn how to use a range of different tools, materials and items of equipment.

Once you have completed this course, you will have gained all of the skills required for you to: design and renovate a full bathroom suite, carry out minor plumbing work, plaster walls and ceilings to a smooth finish, tiling walls and floors learning different techniques and more.

Plumbing

1. How to design and measure a bathroom

3. How to take a bathroom apart

4. How to cut piping using pipe cutters and hacksaw

5. How to connect pipes using solder, compression and push fittings

6. How to use a socket former

7. How to bend pipe

8. How to use plastic piping (waste)

9. How to use plastic push fittings

10. How to first fix your bathroom suite

11. How to fit your bathroom furniture

12. How to fit a shower

Tiling

1. How to plan out your tiling projects

2. How to tile a floor and do different patterns to achieve different finishes

3. How to set out your levels

4. How to cut tiles using tile slices and we cutters

5. How to cut and fix tile corner bends

6. How to tile and grout your bathroom

7. How to mix adhesives and grouts and at what ratios

Plastering

1. How to fix plasterboards to stud walls

2. How to patch in repairs

3. How to plasterboard ceilings

4. How to skim to a smooth flat finish

5. How to mix & apply plaster

6. How to re-plaster any damaged areas

Upon successful completion of this course you will have been taught all of the skills needed for you to go and install a complete bathroom suite with a professional finish. We will provide you with an in-house course certificate of competence from our approved training centre.

Schedule & Duration

Your choice between:

10 days over 2 consecutive weeks (9:00am – 4:30pm, breaks included)
4 consecutive weekends (8:30am – 5:30pm, breaks included)

We provide you with your own work bay & equipment (gear & tools included except safety boots which you need)
