Course Content

By the time you have completed your training with us, you will have learnt how to use specialised kitchen fitting tools safely and correctly

After this aspect of training, you will see a massive improvement in your ability to measure accurately and how to plan a kitchen layout with precision and confidence

This aspect of training will show you how the professionals build their base and wall units

You will be shown how to adjust legs and level base units

You will be shown how to transfer levels and fix wall units to the wall. Your tutor will advise you on what fixings to use on both masonry and dry lining

Completing this important aspect of kitchen fitting will give you the ability and confidence to produce a high-end finish & demonstrate professional skills

Your tutor will show you how to put splash backs in properly and securely

Your tutor will demonstrate this often-tricky task and show you how the professionals do it

You will get the chance to complete this intricate aspect of kitchen fitting and be able to cut & form both internal & external angles

You tutor will show you how to mark out and cut worktops to accommodate sinks and hobs

This aspect of training will enable you to cut worktops to size

Your tutor will show you how to cut, fix and finish the strips

This final aspect of training will teach you how & where to use end panels in order to maximise storage and provide an aesthetically pleasing finish

Schedule & Duration:

  • 5 days in a single week (9:00am – 4:30pm, breaks included)
  • 2 consecutive weekends (8:30am – 5:30pm, breaks included)

Equipment & Facilities

We provide you with your own work area & equipment (materials & tools included except safety boots which you need)

You will have access to:

We are located in CV7 9NH, just off the M6 motorway and close to several food places and hotels nearby.

Our Workshops

Our Kitchen Fitting course has been designed by professionals using products from B&Q, Wickes and Howdens to train you with each course having a maximum of 10 students at a time, so that each student gets enough guidance and tuition from our tutors. This allows you complete the course with all of the required knowledge and understanding, as you can ask all questions you have on your mind and get plenty of one-to-one instruction.

You will be given your own kitchen fitting work area and will be trained by an experienced kitchen fitter who will provide you with the professional skills & knowledge that will enable you to give a high-end, confident finish to any of your domestic kitchen fitting jobs or enable you to even pursue a career as a kitchen fitter working on construction sites.

Course Content

1.   You will start off by learning how to set out your kitchen, just as you would on a real job. Your tutor will explain the working processes and the order of work to be carried out

2.   Your tutor will demonstrate how to fit both base and wall units before you fit your bay out with a range of wall and floor units

3.   You will also be shown how to mark out worktops and cut out for a sink. You will then complete this task on your own kitchen

4.   Your tutor will demonstrate the process of cutting MITRE cuts into a worktop. You will be able to practice & master this task whilst on the course

5.   You will also hang and adjust all doors to ensure that you are able to produce an aesthetically pleasing job

6.   Marking, drilling and fitting door handles

7.   Cut and fit end panels

8.   Glueing and finishing edging strips

9.   Building and fitting drawer units

10. Cutting and fitting pelmet and cornices

11. Cutting and fitting kickboards/plinths

What happens after?

Upon completion of the course, we offer an in-house certificate of competence from our approved training academy.  If you choose to pursue a career path in kitchen fitting, following your course, you will need a CSCS card to have access and work on a building site.  To obtain a CSCS card, you must pass the Health & Safety CSCS test.
