Level 3 Award Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation
City & Guilds 2919
As you are probably aware electric vehicles are one of the fastest growing industries. With climate control and greenhouse emissions governments are looking at ways to reduce emissions and therefore trying to cut down on diesel and petrol cars as a result the electric vehicle market is a large emerging market and getting bigger by the year. Governments are now making every new home have an EV charging point installed and as a result there is a high volume of work and a shortage of installers.
Here at CBWA we have partnered up with Rolec who are the biggest and best in the electric vehicle charging market to deliver this City and Guilds fully accredited level 3 qualification. This means that when you pass this qualification you will be eligible to register on the Rolec approved installer scheme. Once you have registered with them you will appear on the national database of installers, businesses and customers can use this to find installers in their local areas. You will also have the ability to draw down government funding for charging point installations.
This course is designed for experienced electricians who are looking to enhance their skills and install all types of electric vehicle charging points. There are not any formal entry requirements however students must be able to correctly install and terminate both twin and earth and SWA (steel wired armoured) cable and then be able to carry out inspection and testing and record all of the appropriate legisative paperwork. It is recommended but not a legal requirement that you are also up to date with your 18th Edition (City & Guilds 2382)
On this two day course you will cover the design, installation, testing and inspection. You will then go through fault finding of domestic and commercial electric vehicle charging points. Learners are required to successfully complete the following four tasks to achieve this qualification:-
Installion design (commercial/on street) this is a 30 minute exam.
Carry out an installion, this is a 1 hour exam.
Initial verification of installation (inspection and testing) this is a 1 hour exam.

As you can see there is a great deal of content to cover in two days and this is why it is essential that all students on the course must be experienced. If you do not have experience but want to do this course please contact us and we will assist in helping you gain these skills before attending the course.
