As an addition to our practical and theory lessons, we try to encourage the students to participate in team building exercises to help students understand the necessity of communication and team work in the Construction arena.

Our lessons are mostly practical set in a work environment with each unit following a scheme of work, this often suits students who have been out of education for a while or whom struggle to concentrate amongst peers. Using theory lessons and including workbooks ensure the students show progression throughout all practical work completed. All work practical/theory is documented using an individual portfolio.

Site safety plus training and testing and Construction Health and Safety (CSCS) training and testing are expected to be completed by all students who engage on our courses.

We are currently working with the European Social Fund and Routes to Ambition, a specifically designed course, to enable NEET students to attend the training centre and access our wide variety of learning opportunities. This gives students a unique opportunity to access functional skills resources, using the BKSB teaching system, also offering another opportunity as mentioned above. We support individuals to complete their CV along with developing their interview skills and techniques to allow them to hopefully gain a college placement, apprenticeship or work.
